The Long Exhale

Women’s Retreat • Whitsundays
14–17 May 2027 · Yangaro Resort

Four spacious days of yoga, rest, beautiful food, ocean air, and room to hear yourself think again.

Created for women in midlife.

Who are carrying a lot and are ready, even briefly, to put some of it down, this retreat is designed to feel grounding, nourishing, and deeply unforced. Thoughtful movement. Good company. Plenty of space. Nothing performative.

Coming Home 2026 is now fully booked. I’m so looking forward to gathering with that beautiful group this May. The Long Exhale is now open for May 2027.

What this really is.

Not a detox. Not a bootcamp. Not a content opportunity.

This is four days for women who are used to holding a lot — work, family, logistics, emotional labour, the invisible running of life — and are ready for a different rhythm, even just for a few days.

I created The Long Exhale for women like me: capable, thoughtful, generous, often tired of being “on”, and quietly craving room to soften without having to disappear entirely.

This retreat is built around intelligent yoga, proper rest, beautiful meals, ocean breezes, and the kind of spaciousness that lets your nervous system unclench a little. There is no pressure to be good at retreating. No pressure to join everything. No pressure to perform wellness.

Nothing is compulsory. Everything is an invitation.

I’ll hold the shape of the weekend so you can stop holding quite so much for a while.

Midlife doesn’t need fixing.

It needs space, honesty, and a little room to breathe.
Leave the noise. Bring your actual self.

What to expect.

  • Morning and early evening yoga with me — slow strength, mobility, breath, rest, and thoughtfully layered movement

  • Spacious downtime, heated pools, ocean air, and quiet pockets built in

  • Wholefood meals and drinks prepared by Asja

  • Thermal therapies: steam, sauna, and plunge

  • A hands-on creative workshop

  • Gentle rituals, journalling, conversation, and real rest

  • Zero pressure to do everything. The nap is always a valid choice.

This retreat is designed to feel supportive, beautiful, and deeply human — not over-programmed, not over-explained, and not one more thing to get right.

A gentle shape to the weekend.

Meet Asja.

Asja is our food whisperer and my favourite kind of human: warm, skilled, grounded, and quietly excellent.

She creates belonging through food in that rare way some people do — generous without fuss, beautiful without trying to impress anyone. Think deeply comforting meals, nourishing snacks, proper chai, rich hot chocolate, and food that feels as good as it tastes.

She’ll also be guiding our clay workshop, so you’ll head home with something made by your own hands — which feels very in keeping with the spirit of the weekend.

What past guests are saying.

(Spoiler: it’s not just the yoga they remember)

“Every single detail was beyond perfection. And to be amongst women who love, accept, and allow space without judgment — what a gift.”

Andi

“This was exactly what I needed — to heal, to relax, and to just be with me. Thank you for thinking of me.”

Hayley

"I know this will be epic. I was genuinely devastated when I couldn’t make the last retreat—there’s no way I’m missing this one!"

Is this for me?

You’ll likely love this if you’re craving:

  • a small, thoughtful, women-centred retreat rather than a big glossy spectacle

  • intelligent movement without pressure or performance

  • real rest, good food, ocean air, and a softer pace

  • a beautiful setting with enough structure to feel held and enough space to breathe

  • time with other women that feels easy, warm, and genuinely restorative

It may not be the right fit if you’re looking for strict meal control, packed-out days, high-intensity fitness, social media moments, or late-night party energy.

FAQs.

Do I have to do every session?
No. Nothing is compulsory. You are welcome to opt in and out as your body and brain need.

What level of yoga is this?
Accessible and thoughtfully taught. I’ll offer options, props, and a layered approach. If you’re working with injuries, pain, or fatigue, let me know in advance and we’ll plan accordingly.

Do you cater for dietary needs?
Yes. Meals are wholefood, satisfying, and mostly vegetarian-leaning. Common dietary needs can absolutely be accommodated with notice.

Is alcohol included?
No. This is a nervous-system-first retreat and alcohol isn’t part of the programming. If you choose to enjoy a quiet drink privately, you’re welcome to do so mindfully and respectfully.

How do I get there?
Once you enquire or book, I’ll send through a simple travel guide with timing suggestions and directions.

What if payments feel stressful?
That’s exactly why I offer payment plans. If the retreat feels right but you need a manageable rhythm, get in touch and we’ll keep it clear and straightforward.

What happens if I need to cancel?
The $500 deposit is non-refundable. Payments made after that are non-refundable after 1 January 2027, unless your place can be filled. If your room can be filled, I’ll refund what I can minus the deposit. If you need to transfer your booking to someone else, get in touch and I’ll do my best to help.

A final note.

This retreat is not about becoming a better version of yourself.

It’s about stepping out of the noise for a few days and remembering that the version of you underneath the pressure, the tabs open in your brain, the logistics, and the constant output… is still there.

And she might quite like a long exhale.
