Midlife Isn’t a Crisis — It’s a Comeback

I’ve come to realise…
Midlife isn’t falling apart.
It’s falling into place.

And it’s never too late to start something new — or stop something that no longer fits.

Proof? Just a few things I started (or quit) later than the world says you should:

  • Yoga… at 29. (On carpet. With a VHS.)

  • Quit smoking at 35

  • Ditched the booze at 35… then again (for good) at 49

  • Had my babies at 37 and 39

  • Did my first yoga teacher training at 44

  • Started teaching at 46

  • Took up strength training at 54

  • Gave up trying to understand the appeal of bike shorts with a bum scrunch… 5 minutes ago 🙃

The older I get, the more curious, confident, and quietly rebellious I become.

I care less about being “nice” and more about being honest.
Less about how things look, more about how they feel.
Support over aesthetics, every time.

Even my car — bless her — leaks in the wet season and rattles like a shopping trolley around corners. But she still gets me where I need to go.
And honestly? So do I.

So if you’re in your 40s or 50s wondering if you’ve missed your window…
You haven’t.
It’s still wide open.

The glow-up isn’t in the filter — it’s in the freedom.

And if you’ve been quietly waiting for a sign to start, stop, shift, soften, or rise?
This is it.

With love and high-waisted undies,
Sades x
